Microsoft SharePoint, also known as Microsoft SharePoint Products and Technologies or simply SharePoint, is a software platform developed by Microsoft for collaboration and web publishing combined under a single server technology. These capabilities include developing web sites, portals, intranets, content management systems, search engines, wikis, blogs, and other tools for business intelligence.
It’s an immense set of features and functionality and sitting there humming on a server it doesn’t do anything, what it does do is enable people to do just about everything; just as with any technology without a clear idea of what you want to achieve through it’s use value cannot truly be realised.
